Terms and Conditions

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

This web site is operated by Glyndŵr University.

When you enter the site, you are entering into a legally binding agreement with Glyndŵr University.

Your access to and use of this site (referred to as "the Website") outlined below, are subject exclusively to these Terms and Conditions. You will not use the Website for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms and Conditions. By using the Website you are fully accepting the terms, conditions and disclaimers contained in this notice. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions you must immediately stop using the Website.

Glyndŵr University reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time and your continued use of the Website following any changes shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is therefore your responsibility to check the Terms and Conditions regularly for any changes.

The contents of the Website do not constitute advice and should not be relied upon in making or refraining from making, any decision.

Glyndŵr University reserves the right to change or remove (temporarily or permanently) the Website or any part of it without notice and you confirm that Glyndŵr University shall not be liable to you for any such change or removal. All fees paid are non refundable.

SAFETY AND PRIVACY

Glyndŵr University is concerned about the safety and privacy of its users. This site is not intended for the use of anyone under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18 you should not use or enter information on this site. Always use caution when revealing personally identifiable information about yourself.

The privacy policy forms part of these terms and conditions and by agreeing to these terms and conditions you also agree to the use of your personal data as set out in our privacy policy.

USER ACCOUNT, PASSWORD AND SECURITY

You may be required to open an account in order to use parts of this site. The registration process requires certain accurate and current information for use with the Website. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the username and password and also for all activities that take place under your account. You agree to immediately notify Glyndŵr University of any unauthorised use of your password or account or any other breach of security. In no event will Glyndŵr University be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever resulting from the disclosure of your username and/or password. You may not use another person’s account at any time.

REFUND POLICY

Our Summer School fees are in 2 parts - a registration fee and a course fee. When you register for a course you will be required to pay a registration fee to cover our administration costs. This fee is not refundable and guarantees you a place on your chosen course. Waiting list applicants are not charged. You are not required to pay the balance of your fees until 8 weeks before the course starts. If you do not pay the course fee by 4 weeks before the course starts we may offer your place to an applicant on the waiting list. If, after paying the course fee you cannot take up your place on the course due to circumstances beyond your control we will refund the course fee. If you decide not to take up your place after paying the course fee we will refund your course fee if and only if an alternative applicant on the waiting list agrees to take up your place.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

ACCEPTABLE USE

In using the Website you agree not to:
  • impersonate any person or entity for the purpose of misleading others;
  • violate any applicable laws or regulations;
  • use the Website in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the Website or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the Website;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any other accounts, computer systems or networks connected to the Website through hacking, password mining or any other means.

TERMINATION

Glyndŵr University has the right to terminate your access to any or all of the Website at any time, without notice, for any reason, including without limitation, breach of these Terms and Conditions. Glyndŵr University may also at any time, at its sole discretion, discontinue the Website or any part thereof without prior notice and you agree that Glyndŵr University shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the Website.

LINKS TO THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

The Website may include links to third party websites that are controlled and maintained by others. Any link to other websites is not an endorsement of such websites and you acknowledge and agree that Glyndŵr University is not responsible for the content or availability of any such sites.

INTERNATIONAL USE

You agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding the transmission of technical data exported from the United Kingdom or the country in which you reside and with all local laws and rules regarding acceptable use of and conduct on the Internet.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

The Website and its content (including without limitation the Website design, text, graphics and all software and source codes connected with the Website are protected by copyright, and intellectual property rights and laws. In accessing the Website you agree that you will access the contents solely for your personal, non-commercial use. None of the content may be downloaded, copied, reproduced, transmitted, stored, sold or distributed without the prior written consent of the copyright holder. This excludes the downloading, copying and/or printing of pages of the Website for personal, non-commercial home use only.

INDEMNITY

You agree to indemnify and hold Glyndŵr University and its employees and agents harmless from and against any breach by you of these Terms and Conditions and any claim or demand brought against Glyndŵr University by any third party arising out of your use of the Website and/or any Content submitted, including without limitation, all claims, actions, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, expenses (including reasonable legal costs and expenses) howsoever suffered or incurred by Glyndŵr University in consequence of your breach of these Terms and Conditions.

DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Use of the Website is at your own risk. The Website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any representation or endorsement made and without warranty of any kind whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy.

To the extent permitted by law, Glyndŵr University will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever (including without limitation loss of business, opportunity, data, profits) arising out of or in connection with the use of the Website.

Glyndŵr University makes no warranty that the Website will meet your requirements, that the Content will be accurate or reliable, that the functionality of the Website will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected or that the Website or the server that makes them available are free of viruses or anything else that may be harmful or destructive. The content of this site is for general information purposes and is subject to change at any time. It does not constitute advice given. Glyndŵr University is not responsible for any liabilities which may arise in relation to any use of or reliance on the information provided.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

SEVERANCE

If any of these Terms and Conditions should be determined to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason by any court of competent jurisdiction then such Term or Condition shall be severed and the remaining Terms and Conditions shall survive and remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of the United Kingdom and you hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the British and European courts.
