July Summer School 2015

Monday 29th June until Friday 24th July

Your course

The Business Management Summer School programme is drawn from current undergraduate modules offered at Glyndŵr University. They provide knowledge and skills that are identified by employers as being critical for success in the increasingly turbulent and complex global business environment.

The Summer school is an ideal opportunity for you to sample university life in Wales, gain credits, improve your English, and find out whether you wish to continue your studies with the University.

During the Summer School period students will be able to choose from two modules in July and one module in August. July Modules offered by the Business School are Marketing and Tourism.

This course is designed to help make students aware of how organisations take a strategic approach to marketing planning. It will outline the stages of the process from undertaking a marketing audit through to designing a marketing plan using a mix of marketing strategies. Summer School Students will experience:

  • How companies undertake a marketing audit
  • Select and apply marketing mix techniques
  • Design a marketing plan using project management techniques

This course is designed to combine studying the value, impacts and business of tourism with practical experience working with a local tourist business.
Summer School Students will experience:

  • The business of Tourism
  • How tourism impacts the local community
  • Events promoting tourism

Summer School tutors all have a range of practitioner business and management experience to provide additional depth and experience to the subject matter. The modules contribute to the student portfolio by enhancing future employability prospects.
